Title: Cherry Oat Brownies

BROWNIES
1/2cSemi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
2/3cButter Or Margarine
2 Eggs
1cSugar
1tsVanilla Extract
1 1/4cUnbleached All-Purpose Flour
3/4cRolled Oats (Oatmeal)
1tsBaking Powder
16oz(1 Jar) Maraschino Cherries;
  Drained And Chopped
1/2cWalnuts Or Pecans; Chopped
CHOCOLATE GLAZE
1/2cSemi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1tbButter Or Margarine

Preheat the oven to 350 Degrees F. Grease a 9 X 13-inch baking pan and set aside.

Melt 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips and 2/3 cup of butter over low heat, stirring to blend. Set aside to cool slightly.

Beat the eggs and sugar together until frothy. Add the vanilla and then the chocolate mixture.

In a small bowl, combine the flour, oats and baking powder, blending well. Gradually add this to the egg mixture, mixing well. Gently fold in the cherries and nuts. Spread the batter in the pan and bake for 25 minutes. Place the pan on a wire rack to cool until cold to the touch.

In the meantime make the chocolate glaze. Melt the remaining semi-sweet chocolate chips and butter over low heat stirring until the mixture is smooth. Drizzle over the cooled brownies.
